After giving up sewing on Friday in order to go to the marble store, I was sure today will be the day I finally finish altering 2 skirt, make a blue knit skirt and another navy stretch skirt from the Vogue pattern I've been wanting to try since seeing Gertie's take on it, get started on the Rooibos muslin and take pictures of the duo-chromatic panel knit sheath I've been so disappointed with (and oddly getting a zillion compliments on it.)
But then I woke up late and was too lazy to take Chanoch to school and had to go to our future apartment to meet with the marble guy and the painter. Chanoch tagged along, of course, and was so happy with his room! I was thrilled to see that, because he hasn't been there since the really early stages of construction and then he cried he doesn't want to move there. So that was progress, definitely. Afterwards we went home to discover M (my spouse) has got a brutal stomach virus, so I had to keep Chanoch busy and quiet for the rest of the day. No sewing for me today :(
Two things brightened my day, though:
One- I got the cutlery earrings I bought from the lovely Sharona just 2 days ago! That was quick. I love them, and can't wait to wear them to our next Friday night dinner with my parents (a-la Lorelei Gilmore). I wonder how shocked they will be... Check out her blog and her other cool store, where she sells one-of-a-kind Muppets, called Flutterbutts.
Second- I realized how fun it is to have a playground literally across the street. We went there after the meetings in the apartment and Chanoch had the time of his life. Usually I loathe this kind of parks, but I guess when it's 2 steps from home it's less painful. Thankfully, we have double windows, so we won't hear the noise when we're at home.We still have to go to a wedding tonight, but I don't know if M will be up to it, and since it's his family I won't go alone. I need a good night's sleep so badly. Anyway, tomorrow it's back to school for Chanoch, so I hope there will be much more sewing going on. Have a great week!
