This week's outfit with a past comes from Jess of The Love List. Not only does Jessica have such a beautiful blog (and a little book blog I fell in love with) she's also the amazing graphic designer behind many of my other fave reads. And Jess did some graphic magic for this series too! Please welcome her and our new outfit with a past banner:
My "outfit with a past" doesn't have much of a past as I really only got it a few months ago -- but it's seen me through an entire fantastic summer! My Jules Reid maxi is my current favorite. Jules sent it to me this summer as a thank you and it fit perfectly with no alterations -- I was in love! I wore it nearly everywhere this summer, ditching an entire wardrobe of dresses in favor of my maxi. And I love, love, love to wear it with my Krystal Sasso koi necklace.
Fun story: I wore it in Palm Beach at the end of July and wandered into famous resort mecca C.Orrico. One of the owners, Colleen, stopped me because she recognized the dress AND the Krystal Sasso necklace I was wearing - turns out they carried both lines, and I knew both designers! We got to chatting about Krystal, Jules, and my blog, The Love List. They even declared a "cheesecake emergency" (I mean really, what a fun place to work!) and sat me right down on their couch with a big hunk of fresh cheesecake and talked with me like I was an old friend. All because they happened to click with what I had on ;)
Even weirder is that I first heard of Krystal's jewelry on a previous shopping trip in that very store 2 years before! I tracked Krystal down so I could write her up on my blog, and we became fast friends. I even eventually hooked Krystal up with contemporary fashion line Milly and her jewelry ended up on their spring runway! All this really just from a blog and a store. The world is so small!
So while my outfit, though relatively new, may not have a huge past yet, it has a great story and reminds me every time I wear it the power of a blog :)
