design crush: the giveaway

Remember how I praised architect/interior designer David Easton last week? Remember how his design philosophy sang to my heart? Remember how I said I couldn't wait to lay my hands on his book, Timeless Elegance?

it's a party (and you're all getting gifts)

One thing I sneakily left out of my week review on Sunday was that last week marked the 100th post for Belly's Button. When I realized that I have also reached 400 followers on twitter I decided we must have a party!

Well, lucky for us, Overstock.com decided the same thing! The site, which is celebrating its eleventh birthday, is definitely a favorite of mine. Not only are the prices and the service amazing, they also ship internationally- a must for me. Let's just say you're going to see some of their products while I turn my cube into home... Some of my favorite products from Overstock (which Copy Cat Chic features regularly) are the lighting (especially the table lamps- they have a good selection of chinoiserie inspired lamps) and the bed sheets, which you can either use as is or spruce up with some spray paint (at their prices, you can really let your creativity flow without fear).

By the way, aren't those pictures amazing? Photographer Yael Ilan shot this collaboration between Israeli designer Roni Kantor and my favorite cafe's catering service. The best part? All the models our actually family, friends or employees of the designer!

giveaway time: domino

I'm keeping this post on the top until the giveaway ends on JULY 25, so check out below for new, exciting posts as well.

Just a few weeks ago the design community was overjoyed to learn that the beloved (and sadly, deceased) Domino archives are on their way back to the web, thanks to brides.com. Since then, it seems like Domino is everywhere again: The Paris Review's (great, new) blog featured a diary-of-sorts by Rita Konig (whom also writes the occasional column for NY Times T Magazine) for , Dara Caponigro is now editor-in-chief of Veranda magazine, and Jenny from (the best DIY blog ever,) Little Green Notebook found out Domino's Youtube channel is still up, which cost me a few hours of work- and I'm sure I wasn't alone...

But still, there's nothing like leafing through a real, paper & stickers (I was going to say flesh and soil, but, ya know...) Domino. If you're not one of the lucky ones, who own every single issue, or the OCD driven (hint, hint) who collect them on Ebay (okay, it's me)- I'm here for you.
