I was so touched by Michelle's post the other day. Michelle, whom you may know as part of the design duo Holley & Gill wrote about knowing where and when to stop and finding new ways an paths in creative life.

Her post was triggered by the release of H&G's latest - and last - collection. And aside from relating with her words, I fell in love with their feather pillow.

Do you guys remember how impressed I was with the feather wall in Markham Roberts home? He drew each and every feather himself, but you can also pull this effect off by using this roller (I'm determined to use this brilliant thing somewhere in our apartment! I just need to find the perfect room and pattern.)

Day-dreaming, doodling and can't stop rambling? It must be lust. So yeah, after I imagined each and every piece of furniture in this house in faux python decoupage, pinned images religiously and squealed with every google find, I'm admitting this: I fell in love with faux python and it feels oh so good.

So, Markham Roberts- you already know I admire his work. We've also established that Domino was one of the greatest shelter magazines. I loved the article they did on his apartment in their December/January 2008 issue.

What I loved even more was the fine print.

Always read the fine print.

If you read the "fine print" accompanying the Domino images, you'd know you can get these gorgeous star lanterns for 125-210 $ at Hometown Evolution. If you didn't, you may find them at Vaughan Designs, price upon request (which usually means it's too expensive for me.)

 

How about the pillows on Mr. Roberts sofa? Great leopard print, right? Well you can source it through an interior designer and burn a hole in your wallet, or you can follow Mr. Roberts' advice and head to iluvfabrix.com , where you'd find tons of fabrics for a serious discount. (they also have Camilla's dream Canovas fabrics.) Yep, I'm already hooked.

 

And this idea is from me to you: If - like me - you lack the talent and/or patience to draw feather after feather onto your walls yet crave the look, seek no more! Brilliant solution, don't you think?
